Digital Media Changed the Trend of Celebrity

In this technology era, people spend most of their time on the Internet and digital devices, especially the youth. Before youtube went viral, people watched TV shows or films at home or movie theatres, respectively. Contrastingly, these days, streaming services, like Netflix and Facebook, dramatically altered the dominance of TV programs. The platforms allow content makers to create freely and earn for living by distinguishing profit models. Therefore, a growing number of producers start their self-media business to generate fantastic content in differentiating formats, including videos, podcasts, and blogs. People consumed information from serious daily news to prank videos. Various digestible videos, series, and movies provide distinct groups of people to enjoy.

The booming of digital media also makes differences in the fans and celebrities between the last and present generation. In the past, stars can only be selected by scouts or personal connections, yet, the advanced products opened a new channel to the bright success for these potential lucid. Plenty of audiences are even glued to the screen. They subscribed to these cyber celebrities more than traditional ones because these cyber influencers can manufacture more unlimited and created creations.

These circumstances made the line between TV celebrities and the Internet become more blur than decades ago. How such a trend will be changed or totally transformed in the future would be an interesting topic.
