In this era, a large growth of elders caused many social issues, especially in Japan, Taiwan, Denmark, and Italy. The demand for caregiving drastically in ageing societies. Taking Taiwan as an example, most families regularly rely on health centers, migrant workers, or family members to provide these services for their seniors.

However, the 24/7 monitor of a caregiver frequently leads to other problems, including unreliable employment, discrimination, irresponsible attitude, and heavy workload. Moreover, today, the wage-earners typically have busy lifestyles, which have limited time on taking detailed care of their family members. Because of this, the scientists spent a great deal of time developing AI robots to assist human beings’ life in various aspects, in this lasting pandemic.

When taking a peek at the benefits of these AI robots, we can effortlessly discover these AI robots (Carebots). Specifically, in Asian communities, the most need of senioritis is companionship. Therefore, first of all, in the accompanying sector, technology makes them comprise humanoid features, such as greeting, blessing, reading and partying. Such an advanced invention contains health care capabilities. Through the interaction between human and care bots, the senior individuals can alleviate loneliness and isolation when their children cannot accompany them, which also solves their family’s concern.

Furthermore, care bots are so well-prepared to assist (or even replace) medical personnel by working and testing in years, for example, washing their appearance, lifting their bodies (from out of bed and into a chair). These will diminish the medical staff’s workloads on older people almost every minute, particularly for those who suffer from Parkinson’s Disease.

From the perspective of digital media, everything boils down to the UX. Designers can consider the whole experience, comprising interface, appearance, texture, and flow of the caring robots to reach the futuristic demand of human beings with this prosperous development. Additionally, providing more humanoid or authentic features and services involving emotional design is the next milestone on which designers and programmers can put their efforts on.
